Who You Got? Sherdog Staff Pick 'Em: Bellator 222

By Sherdog.com Staff Jun 14, 2019
Welcome back to the Sherdog Staff Pick 'Em League, where last week we were all over UFC 238, nailing 72 percent of our picks. Time to find out whether we fare as well with Bellator MMA's latest trip to Madison Square Garden.

Plenty of dissension on this card, with quite a few pickers willing to call the main event for Neiman Gracie and several picking the oddly quiet Chael Sonnen to take care of business against Lyoto Machida. It's worth noting that more than a few Sherdog pickers tried to submit "Jon Fitch" for the main event, and only half-jokingly at that.

This card also features something that has never happened this season until now: a tie. The panel was deadlocked on the rematch between Darrion Caldwell and Kyoji Horiguchi. (If there's a draw, that'll be something, won't it?)

We have one man daring to be great this week: contributing editor Jay Pettry, who is the only staff member picking Max Humphrey to upset grappling wizard, wraparound sunglasses enthusiast and general enfant terrible Dillon Danis in their main card feature bout. Only time will tell whether Pettry is an evil genius and Super Cojones Award laureate for going out on a limb, or just ends up looking like a dummy when "El Hefe" goes out on one of Humphrey's limbs and puts it on backward.

Here are the Sherdog staff picks for Bellator 222: MacDonald vs. Gracie.
