An interesting lightweight clash pitting Edson Barboza against Beneil Dariush has been added to the UFC Fight Night 107 lineup.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on Wednesday. UFC Fight Night 107 takes place in Fortaleza, Brazil, on March 11 and is headlined by a middleweight duel between Vitor Belfort and Kelvin Gastelum. The evening’s main card will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
Barboza had an impressive 2016 campaign, as he scored unanimous verdicts over ex-UFC and WEC lightweight titlist Anthony Pettis and former Strikeforce 155-pound king Gilbert Melendez. The 30-year-old Brazilian is 12-4 during his promotional tenure overall.
Dariush has won seven of h is last eight Octagon appearances. Most recently, the Californian earned a unanimous decision triumph against Rashid Magomedov at UFC Fight Night 98. Dariush owns other notable wins over Michael Johnson and Jim Miller in UFC competition.
