The World Series of Fighting 33 main card is complete with the addition of a welterweight bout pitting John Howard against Abubakar Nurmagomedov and a heavyweight clash between Shawn Jordan and Ashley Gooch.
Promotion officials revealed the final matchups for the six-bout featured draw on Tuesday. WSOF 33 takes place at Kansas City Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Kan., on Oct. 7 and is headlined by a lightweight title tilt between Justin Gaethje and Ozzy Dugulubgov. The three-hour main card begins on NBC Sports Network at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.
After a seven-fight second stint with the UFC, Howard made his WSOF debut on June 17, taking a unanimous verdict over Michael Arrant at WSOF 31. Nurmagomedov has been victorious in his first three promotional appearances, besting Jorge Moreno, Danny Davis Jr. and Matthew Frincu in succession.
Jordan parted ways with the UFC following a decision loss to Ruslan Magomedov this past October; “The Savage” has not competed since. The recently-signed Gooch enters the matchup on an eight-fight winning streak, including back-to-back triumphs under the CES MMA banner.
